The 2024 Survey on Gambling in the ACT is a comprehensive research project designed to understand gambling behaviours and their impacts in the Australian Capital Territory. Here are key points about the study:

Scope: 

This is a large-scale survey involving approximately 10,000 ACT residents aged 18 and over.

Methodology: 

The study uses Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) to collect data. Participants are contacted on their mobile phones using numbers provided from the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND).

Duration: 

Each survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.

Timing: 

The study is scheduled to run from June to October 2024.

Funding: 

This research is funded by the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission through a successful tender application.
Researchers: The study is led by a team of experienced researchers from CQUniversity, in collaboration with Ipsos Australia for data collection.

Continuity: 

This survey builds on previous research, including the 2019 ACT Gambling Survey, allowing for comparisons over time.
